Diagonal Lock Exhibition   [ OCTOBER 2011 ]

Terry Fogarty and the Diagonal Lock Advisory Group hosted an exhibiton at Knowle Village Hall, West Midlands on the 29th October to promote the Diagonal Lock to the general public and members of the press.

The event was opened by Caroline Spelman MP, and was well attended throughout the afternoon. George Ballinger of British Waterways attended the event and re-iterated his support for the concept.

Birmingham City Council have expressed an interest in the Diagonal Lock for potential inclusion in Birmingham's Big City Plan development. Terry and the team are keen to hear YOUR views on this - so please take some time to complete the Visitor Survey, or alternatively add your comments on the Forum.

Diagonallock.org re-launch   [ JUNE 2011 ]

DiagonaLock.org has been updated and re-launched! The new site has been designed to be more interactive for our visitors, with more graphics and simulations of the lock integrated into the site. There is now also a Visitor Survey and a Chat Forum to allow visitors to contact us more easily and provide feedback. You can also subscribe to our newsletter to get regular updates.

Earle Wightman joins the Diagonal Lock Advisory Group   [ MAY 2011 ]

Birmingham based businessman Earle Wightman is the latest addition to the Diagonal Lock Advisory Group. Earle is Managing Director of Sherborne Wharf in central Birmingham, offering leisure boating facilities for tourists and corporate / private parties. Earle's extensive knowledge of the leisure boating industry and his 40 years of commercial expertise is a great asset to the Advisory Group. Terry Fogarty would like to take the opportunity to welcome Earle onto the Advisory Group, and thank him for his ongoing contribution and advice. 2011 has already seen interest in the Diagonal Lock gather momentum, and we expect this trend to continue into 2012 and beyond. The influence and guidance of the Diagonal Lock Advisory Group has been at the heart of our progress and Terry Fogarty would like to extend his congratulations and gratitude to all those involved in the Diagonal Lock project.

British Waterways representative meets Diagonal Lock team   [ MAY 2011 ]

Phil Sharp and Terry Fogarty have met with George Ballinger (Head of Engineering at British Waterways) to discuss the Diagonal Lock technology, and the challenges and issues involved in modernising and regenerating the inland waterways. The meeting was very constructive and Terry would like to thank George for his positive and progressive thinking. The Diagonal Lock team are hopeful that George, and British Waterways can bring their extensive knowledge and experience to future projects involving the Diagonal Lock technology.
